RSVP forms advisory council

The Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) of Huron, Seneca and Wyandot Counties recently announced its first upcoming Advisory Council meeting, which consists of local volunteers and community members. The public is encouraged to come to the first meeting on Oct. 17 from 1-2 p.m. to learn more information regarding RSVP and its community impact. The meeting will take place in Tiffin at the RSVP office, 201 S. Washington St. Volunteer opportunity in Seneca County: Volunteers are needed on Oct. 8 from 8 a.m.-noon at the Day of Caring event with the United Way. The volunteers will assist the Tiffin-Seneca United Way with several service projects around Seneca County. Volunteer opportunity in Wyandot County: Weekly help is needed at the Open Door Resource Center in Upper Sandusky from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. on Thursdays, where volunteers will to serve hot, free meals to those in need within the community. Volunteers will help prepare, serve and clean up from the meal, and can volunteer as often or as little as they are available. Volunteer opportunity in Huron County: The Willard Church of God is seeking a volunteer to help deliver homebound seniors their monthly food boxes around Willard. Days and hours are flexible depend upon the volunteer. Additionally, mileage accrued will be reimbursed at a certain rate.
