UF Choirs present 'A Choral Journey' FINDLAY -- The University of Findlay Concert-Chorale and University Singers recently performed "A Choral Journey." The concert included folk songs and songs in different languages from all over the world. The performance was directed by Dr. SeaHwa Jung, the associate professor of music and director of choral activities at the University of Findlay. Local students include: Melissa Arellano and Averie Fritz of Clyde; Jack Yeater of Carey. Baldwin Wallace stages 'Detroit '67' BEREA --- Elise Hill of Clyde was part of the talented cast and crew from Baldwin Wallace University that staged Dominique Morisseau's "Detroit '67" under the direction of BW alumnus Nathan Henry during the fall 2022 semester. Hill, a graduate of Clyde Senior High School majoring in theatre stage management, served as an assistant stage manager in the production. Morisseau's play tells the story of a brother and sister clashing while race riots rage through Detroit and the songs of Motown are breaking records and barriers in the summer of 1967. Chelle and her brother, Lank, are running an unlicensed after-hours joint out of their basement. When Lank offers refuge to a mysterious stranger, pent-up emotions erupt, and they must navigate the chaos both outside and within. "Detroit '67" is one of an extensive number of performance experiences providing real-world opportunities for students at Baldwin Wallace University. UF's Oiler Marching Band to perform 'Sounds of the Stadium' FINDLAY --- Members of the University of Findlay's Oiler Marching Band will perform in concert, "Sounds of the Stadium," at 3 p.m. on Oct. 30, 2022, in the Winebrenner Building, TLB Auditorium. Local students to perform include Alexandria Langley and Nora Zirm of Tiffin; and Emily Von Stien of New Washington. The band will be performing a selection of songs from the season's halftime and pregame shows under the direction of Dr. Wes King, director of bands at the University of Findlay.
