Gibsonburg knocks back StockadersOLD FORT — Sam Deininger keyed Gibsonburg's second quarter, Jenna Bloomfield did the same in the fourth and the Golden Bears stymied Old Fort's offense Friday for a 54-51 Sandusky Bay Conference River Division win.Both teams entered with just one conference loss early in the season, and the game was close throughout, but Gibsonburg's defense forced 28 turnovers to counter Old Fort's 20-of-41 shooting effort.Deininger scored 11 of her game-high 15 points in the second quarter to help the Golden Bears (4-2, 4-1 SBC) enter halftime clinging to a 25-23 lead.Each team netted 14 points in the third period, but Bloomfield netted six of her eventual 11 points in the final eight minutes to help Gibsonburg get the win.Sophia Simmons added 12 points for the Golden Bears and Jazmyne Morant scored nine.Addy Gillmor and Ryen Smith each tossed in 12 points for the Stockaders (4-3, 3-2). Zeiher dropped in 20 of her career-high 28 points in the first quarter as the Pirates blew by Columbian 62-38 in Sandusky Bay Conference Lake Division play.Zeiher was 8 of 11 from 3-point range.Behind the strong first quarter from Zeiher, Perkins (4-3) led 26-14 and then took a 36-20 lead into the half. TC (3-4) managed just 18 second-half points. Camryn VanVlerah added 13 points for Perkins. Dallas Poll scored 10 points for Columbian, while Maggie Rannigan tacked on seven points and both Abbie Felske and Lexi Smith added six points. Warriors rally late to upend upset-minded RamsUPPER SANDUSKY — Three quarters in, and winless Upper Sandusky sat poised for the upset of the first half of the Northern 10 Athletic Conference season.But then Mohawk responded.Hunter Haynes and A.J. Free throws push Tigers past BucksATTICA — Seneca East didn't have a perfect night at the line Friday, but still did pretty well.The Tigers finished 17 of 19 on foul shots after a 13-of-15 showing there in the second half to slowly pull away from Buckeye Central for a 43-33 Northern 10 Athletic Conference win.Seneca East (5-1, 2-1 N10) led just 22-20 at halftime before using the foul line to outscore the Bucks 21-13 in the second half.Isaac Mason keyed the victors with 15 points, Lucas Bordner scored 10 and Luke Mason added eight.Tyler Sanderson's 10 points topped Buckeye Central, but he was held scoreless in the fourth quarter.Jack Phillips scored eight points and Drew Rose tallied seven for the Bucks (3-4, 0-2).
