GALION — Braxton Quaintance captured the 175-pound crown and 10 teammates also placed Saturday, guiding Lakota to the runner-up team spot at the Galion Kooper McCabe Memorial Pool Tournament.Quaintance pinned Norwalk's Ryan Fox (1:16) for his championship, helping the Royals end with 207 points in the 14-team field.Ontario ended atop the standings with 222 1/2 points, and Bellevue upended Seneca East 150-119 1/2 for fifth.Bellevue's Clay Alley gained the area's other individual championship by pinning Lakota's Cody Paul for the 150-pound title (1:12).Three other Raiders — Lane Thacker, Case Paul and Jon Rosas — also claimed runner-up finishes.Marion Harding 126-pounder David Backus pinned Thacker (3:35), Antwerp's Eli Reinhart pinned Case Paul at 157 pounds, and Mansfield's Leo Hess scored a 16-0 technical fall win in the 190-pound title bout against Rosas.Cody Biddle gave Lakota a third at 144 pounds by flattening Firestone's Ali Abdelrahim (4:44), and Gabe Garlick took third over teammate Ethan Bomer at 165 pounds via default.Fourths for Lakota went to 132-pounder Simon Roth and 138-pounder Grant Bomer in matches against Marion Harding opponents.
