Morgan named president of Mercy Health's Tiffin, Willard hospitals

Mercy Health has announced that Andrew Morgan is the new president of Mercy Health's Tiffin and Willard hospitals. He had been serving as interim president of the hospitals since July and recently accepted the permanent position. "Andrew has shown to be a proven leader in both the Tiffin and Willard communities, and I am excited to welcome him to this permanent role," Bob Baxter, president of Mercy Health - Toledo, said in a news release. "Andrew's passion for growth and service enhancement is an asset to both our patients and our communities. As a ministry, Mercy Health continues to grow in the region, and we're excited to continue building on the momentum already underway." Morgan joined Mercy Health in 2020 and served as the chief financial officer for the Willard, Tiffin and Defiance hospitals as well as Mercy Health Life Flight Network. Prior to joining the ministry, he worked for AdventHealth in Tampa, Florida, in roles such as assistant vice president and chief financial officer. Morgan earned his master of business administration degree from Liberty University and his bachelor of science degree in business administration from Union College in Nebraska. "I joined Mercy Health because of our amazing mission of improving the health and well-being of our communities and it is such an honor to support our teams in that work," Morgan said in the release. "I'm passionate about building strong relationships across our medical staff, associates and community, and I'm excited to continue building upon Mercy Health's strong legacy of exceptional, compassionate care for our community." The Tiffin and Willard hospitals consistently rank among the nation's best in a variety of areas, including quality, clinical outcomes, and patient and associate experience, the release said. In October, both hospitals earned rankings for the fourth consecutive year among healthcare providers and insurers in Modern Healthcare's 2022 Best Places to Work award program. Willard Hospital was ranked 15th, which is up from last year's 39th place, and Tiffin was ranked 50th, which is up from the 2021 ranking of 60th. Additionally, Tiffin Hospital was recently awarded an "A" grade in The Leapfrog Group fall Hospital Safety Grade, a national distinction. Also, Mercy Health recently announced a $3.1 million investment to expand the labor and delivery space at Tiffin Hospital to create additional rooms to provide care for area mothers, newborns and their families. Construction on the new family birthing center is set to begin in spring 2023 and is expected to last about 12 months.
