Competitive Funding Grant open through OSS

The OSS Solid Waste District is continuing its Competitive Grant Funding Program for 2023. The Competitive Funding Program was created to provide funding to local governments, educational institutions and non-profit organizations for solid waste programs. The District cannot, by law, fund any privately owned business. Funding applications are awarded in two equal rounds once in January and again in June. The District has a committee that reviews the grants and makes recommendations to the Board of Directors. The application for the first round of grants is currently open and due on Jan. 31 with the second round closing on June 30. Last year was the first year of reintroducing the CFG to the District's programming since 2018. In 2022 there were 14 groups that all received funding through the grant. The district provides a specified amount of money in the budget each year for the Competitive Funding Program.
