One dead following accident, SR 53 now open

Update: 5:48 p.m. One man is dead following a fatal accident Tuesday. At about 2:22 p.m., the Seneca County Sheriff's Office received a call reporting a single-vehicle accident. The accident was reported at 4185 S SR 53, Seneca County Dispatch told the A-T. The vehicle was a box truck and the driver, a man, was discovered to be dead on arrival. His name is being withheld following family notification. Seneca County Sheriff's and Ohio Highway State Patrol Norwalk Post responded to the scene. The accident is under investigation Ohio Highway State Patrol Norwalk Post Update 5:26 p.m.: State Route 53 now open SENECA TWP. - State Route 53 is currently shut down. According to the Seneca County Sheriff's Office, there was a rollover accident at SR 53, south of 14. SR 53 is shut down at this time from US 224 to CR 6 for the safety of emergency crews. It is unknown when the area will be opened back up. The Sheriff Office's asks that the public avoid the area. Seneca County Sheriff's Office and Ohio State Highway Patrol are currently on the scene.
