Kendra's Cakes open in Bascom

BASCOM --- Kendra's Cakes has opened a store in Bascom at 695 N. SR 635. Starting as a home business, Kendra's Cakes has grown since its founding in 2011. Today, the business serves locally-baked cakes, cookies and cupcakes from a recently renovated building. "This has gotten bigger than I expected," said Kendra Foos, owner and founder of Kendra's Cakes. "I'm so happy that we've been able to expand to this location. Bascom is a great place to be, and I'm excited to continue growing here." The business welcomes walk-in customers Wednesday through Friday and offers a selection of desserts to choose from. She and her staff also produce custom orders for special events and aim to make the highest quality products available. "Kendra's Cakes is a great example of our rural businesses," said Seneca County Commissioner Tony Paradiso. "The small businesses in our villages are an important part of maintaining our communities and economy." As the business continues to grow, Foos said she plans to increase the variety of desserts she offers. "We're looking forward to the future and being able to offer more for people looking for local options," she said.
