The Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) of Wyandot, Seneca and Huron counties has recently completed various service projects and is currently seeking volunteers for more upcoming opportunities. Volunteer opportunities include: Seneca County Station name: Tiffin Non-Food Pantry Days/hours and volunteers needed: first and third Thursdays, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Help out at giveaway distribution by handing out donated items to those in need. Huron County Station name: RSVP Transportation Days/hours volunteers needed: hours vary based on client need and volunteer availability Help provide safe and reliable rides to local homebound seniors for their necessary trips; to include medical appointments, grocery shopping, and/or banking. Other trips are approved in advance by RSVP Program Coordinator. Mileage reimbursement is available. AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP, a program of Family and Community Services, Inc., provides volunteer services in 15 counties throughout the state of Ohio. AmeriCorps members and AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers served at more than 1,000 locations across Ohio, including schools, food banks, homeless shelters, health clinics, youth centers, veterans facilities, and other nonprofit and faith-based organizations. Through a unique public-private partnership, AmeriCorps and its partners generated more than $7.7 million in outside resources from businesses, foundations, public agencies, and other sources in Ohio last year. This local support strengthened community impact and increased the return on taxpayer dollars.
