Campus notes: Columbus State, Hiram, Youngstown State

AMES, Iowa More than 10,200 Iowa State University students — including Port Clinton's Alexis Bordy and Sandusky's Max Corso — have been recognized for outstanding academic achievement by being named to the fall semester 2022 dean's list. Bordy is studying veterinary medicine and Corso studied animal science. Students named to the dean's list must have earned a grade point average of at least 3.50 on a 4.0 scale while carrying a minimum of 12 credit hours of graded course work. BLOOMSBURG, Pa. Bellevue native Olivia Martinez, a business administration major, was one of more than 1,870 students who were named to the fall 2022 dean's list at Commonwealth University-Bloomsburg. To qualify for the dean's list, a student must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher (based on 4.0) during the semester. COLUMBUS, Ohio • Norwalk's Jennifer Talkington graduated magna cum laude and Vermilion's Sean Lipscomb graduated from Columbus State Community College during the fall semester graduation on Dec. 16, 2022. • Norwalk native Raven Emerick, associate of arts; and Willard native Mirka Lopez-Andrade, associate of arts, were named to Columbus State Community College's fall 2022 dean's list. To be named to the dean's list, a student must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 or higher and be enrolled for six or more credit hours. CULLOWHEE, N.C. Margaret Wessels, of Sandusky, has been named to Western Carolina University's fall 2022 chancellor's list. Wessels was among more than 2,000 students to achieve this honor. To qualify for the chancellor's list, students must earn a 3.8 GPA or higher while completing a minimum of 12 credit hours. GROVE CITY, Pa. Marc Dieter of Huron and Lily Gross of Sandusky were named to the Grove City College dean's list for the fall 2022 semester. HIRAM, Ohio Greenwich residents Allydia Byard and Rebecca Cotterman and Port Clinton resident Jaxon Martinez made Hiram College's dean's list for the fall 2022 semester. Dean's list recognition is awarded each semester to students who, during the semester, complete 12 or more hours of graded coursework at Hiram College with a semester 3.6 GPA. LINCOLN, Neb. Grace Kollars, of Huron, was among more than 6,900 students named to the deans' list at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for the fall semester of the 2022-23 academic year. Kollars, a senior majoring in environmental studies, was named to the dean's list for the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources. YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio Six area Youngstown State University students qualified for the dean's list for fall 2022 semester. Dean's list recognition is awarded to full-time undergraduate students who have earned at least a 3.4 grade point average for not less than 12 semester hours of credit in the fall semester.
