JAM's Monthly Markets gets nonprofit status

TIFFIN — JAM's Monthly Markets, 145 Madison St., announced Tuesday that is it now a registered nonprofit organization. The market opened its doors in January 2020 as a retail experience for shoppers that gathered multiple small business vendors into one unified space. Since opening, its mission has grown to focus more on supporting the community through the markets' functions. Owner Jami Fadley, along with JAM's Markets board members Lisa Gelinas, Angie Bloom and Jen Burns, said they share a passion for giving back and helping their community be the best that it can (be). "We have been operating as a nonprofit in many forms, but becoming an official incorporation will open so many doors for our future plans of growth," Fadley said. "This will also give us the credibility needed for fundraising and continuing our mission." Since February 2020, JAM's Monthly Markets has supported more than 55 nonprofits and has raised more than $55,000 for organizations and local families in need. The market is open the third weekend of every month, Thursday through Sunday, and hosts three large vendor events throughout the year. The market will be open this weekend, featuring: • Tea Time Tiffin's St. Patrick's Day Tea. • JAM's Prom Dress Shop with more than 250 gently-used dresses to browse through. • St. Paddy's Day 5k Run/Walk, and anyone with a 5k ticket can take part in the free Tiffin Community Kitchen waffle and hot chocolate bar. • JAM's annual Easter egg hunt and pictures with the Easter Bunny, collecting donations to benefit Seneca County School of Opportunity.
