Grateful for Repp

My name is Cassandra Shook and I am a person in recovery. I am lucky to be alive today as I was using/addicted to street drugs. I am thankful to everyone who has been my positive support, shoulders to lean on as well as listening ears along the way. The one person who I am most grateful for is my former Judge, Mark Repp. He referred me to the PIVOT program in 2018. Little did I know at the time he would have a huge positive impact on my life helping me find my want to take back my own life. When I accepted my invitation to the program, it was just starting out. We quickly became like one big family coming together for one another and were there to achieve the same victory. Mark Repp showed up for us every Thursday, with a smile on his face and he made it so clear that he wanted to be there and was there for US. To this day I miss being in PIVOT, because my accomplishments were never unnoticed by Mark Repp or the other judges. Life is about learning from our mistakes and having the chance to make the wrongs right. I don't believe Best or Fruth would benefit the PIVOT program, due to their total lack of knowledge in the recovery community. As well as they don't know how to help addicts transition from active addiction to learning how to start their recovery. As lawyers, they know how to sit on the other side of the bench and belittle us for our wrongdoings. As a former addict, a 2019 PIVOT graduate, a recovering addict, I am speaking to those who have loved ones struggling, those that are still struggling, and those who have found recovery. There is no better judge to understand and show up for you than former Judge Mark Repp. He helped save my life, and for that, I will be voting for Mark Repp as 2023 judge.
