Against Sunny Farms expansion

The citizens of Seneca County DO NOT WANT any expansion of the Heinous Landfill - located near SR 224 and SR 23/199. The Landfill operators have named these massive mountains of garbage "Sunny Farms". Such a bold-faced lie. These mountains of waste, hauled in from out of state, are not in any way shape or form a farm! These massive smelly hills hold only about 3% of local waste with 97% being hauled in by stinking rail cars. In this similar manner, the operators use the acronym WIN for their company name. They are a classic example of "The Wolf disguised as a Sheep". Several key points are: 1. The latest action by the Operators is to seek the removal of the Seneca County Health Department as an Approving entity. Apparently, the Operators feel they are above the law! They continue to bully anyone they choose to get whatever they want. Now since the Seneca County Board of Health does not plan to approve the landfill's requested expansion- they are now the landfill's Operators target. 2. In an equally pathetic insulting PR attempt- the Operators have donated $30,000 to Hopewell-Loudon Schools, to show they are a generous giving entity. But that is a drop in the bucket compared to the millions of dollars lost on the property values surrounding the massive mounds of trash, looming on the western edge of Seneca County. They are effectively saying "Give the locals some crumbs". 3. The Operators latest permit request is to relocate two existing stormwater settling ponds. If there is NO future expansion - there is no need to relocate these ponds! This permit should be denied! 4. As previously discussed, if the local politicians can block the development of wind turbines in Seneca County - they certainly should be able to stop any expansion of the disgusting cesspool that has been dumped in Seneca County. 5. Lastly, from the many public hearings that the EPA has attended concerning this landfill- it should be abundantly clear- Seneca County does not want this landfill to expand. It is time to move this trash circus to some other state. The citizens of Seneca County do not deserve to be treated with such disrespect. New York can put their waste in upstate New York. Philadelphia can put their trash out in the hills of rural Pennsylvania. Just keep their trash out of our backyard!
