Exploring Seneca County one slice at a time

SENECA COUNTY – Seneca County Pizza and Geocaching Trail – featuring 19 pizza restaurants – was announced Thursday morning during opening ceremonies of the Ohio GeoClash & Festival. The festival, sponsored by the Ohio Geocaching Association, is taking place throughout Seneca County through the weekend. Destination Seneca County and the Seneca Regional Chamber of Commerce made the announcement Thursday morning in partnership with Cachers Anonymous, a group of local geocaching enthusiasts. The trail offers incentives to residents and visitors to explore Seneca County one slice at a time. People who buy pizza at six of the pizza eateries can receive a Slice of Seneca County T-shirt. For locating 19 geocaches, participants can receive a limited-edition and trackable two-piece geocaching coin. Participants can choose to complete each individual trail or do them both. In September 2021, Destination Seneca County launched the first geocaching trail in Northwest Ohio that drew more than 200 geocachers, who traveled more than 20,000 miles to complete it. Participating pizza restaurants are Smitty's Pizza and VC Attica Cameo, Attica; Sauber's Stumble Inn, Bascom; Domino's Pizza, Fostoria Pizza Palace, Marco's Pizza and Red's Pizza, Fostoria; Big C's Smokehouse & Pizza, Green Springs; Left Field, New Riegel; Fat Head's Family Restaurant, Republic; and Domino's Pizza, Fort Ball Pizza Palace North and South, Heavenly Pizza, Jac & Do's Pizza, Marco's Pizza, Napoli Pizza, Reino's Pizza & Pasta and VC Tiffin Cameo, Tiffin. To take part, download a passport from the website, www.SenecaPizzaTrail.com. Or passports can be picked up at the front desk of Hampton Inn of Tiffin starting June 17. Passports of the Slice of Seneca County Pizza and Geocaching Trail must be turned in at the Hampton Inn of Tiffin to redeem the geocaching coin and/or T-shirt. After trail completion, participants will receive 25% off a room stay that night, contingent on room availability.
