Local woman creates degree program

Dr. Stacie Campbell graduated Mohawk High School in 2006. Since then, she has gone on to provide nursing care at Fairhaven Community and Wyandot Memorial Hospital. She has been with Marion Technical College (MTC) since 2015, and then became the Director of Nursing at MTC last year. In that year, she started a Bachelor of Science (BSN) degree at the community college. The program is the first program in nursing to start in the state of Ohio, and the classes began this past March with many alumni returning to complete their next degree. The program offers the same level of education as a university but with the same cost as a community college. Marion Technical College nursing program has been open since 1971, and there are many alumni and nurses in the community that can take advantage of their next nursing degree with this program. The degree will allow nurses to expand their knowledge in leadership, management and community care. Nurses can then use their BSN to expand their role in their career or to obtain their MSN such as a nurse practitioner or doctoral degree in nursing.
