Arrows bring home medals

COLUMBUS - Twenty-one Seneca Arrows athletes competed during the Special Olympics Ohio Summer Games this past weekend, with 10 athletes bringing home gold, silver and bronze medals. "I have attended the Special Olympics Ohio Summer Games 17 times before this weekend and every year it brings such joy," Kristina Egbert, Seneca County Opportunity Center's activities coordinator, said in a press release. "This being my 18th time it did not disappoint. Win or lose, the athletes were smiling, making new friendships and in a community where disabilities didn't matter. If you have never been to the Special Olympics Ohio Summer Games, you must check it out at least once in your lifetime. It will forever change you for the better." Here are the results of the Seneca Arrows from the Ohio Special Olympics Summer Games this past weekend: TRACK The Arrows' track team all ran the 50- & 100-meter dash receiving the following places. Timothy Culver - 4th in the 100-meter dash Arrin Allen - 5th in the 100-meter dash Kaleb Jakscy - gold in the 50-meter dash Matt Spencer - silver in the 100-meter dash Thomas Hammer - gold in the 100-meter dash TRACK Timothy Culver - Bronze in softball throw Arrin Allen - gold in mini javelin throw Kaleb Jakscy - gold in mini javelin throw Matt Spencer - silver in mini javelin throw Thomas Hammer - 5th in mini javelin throw BOWLING Saturday's competition: Patrick Moore-gold Steve Scifers-silver Danny Ralph-4th Arrows Bowlers finished up the competition on Sunday with Ruben Villarreal receiving a gold medal. VOLLEYBALL The Seneca Arrows' Volleyball team consisting of Emily, Israel, Ryan, Sean, Seth, Tyler, Jonathan & Nathan took home 5th place at this year Special Olympics Summer Games!
