Depression glass show coming to Tiffin 2024

National Depression Glass Association Inc. has selected Tiffin to host its 48th annual Glass Show & Sale Convention July 13-14, 2024. A news release from Destination Seneca County said the show returns to Tiffin for the first time since 2016 and is scheduled to take place at Tiffin Middle School, 103 Shepherd Drive. Nationally-known glass dealers are to be set up for the show that attracts collectors from all over the United States, the release said. In addition to the show and sale, the organization is planning a silent auction and live auction, along with glass identification, educational seminars and displays and hourly door-prize drawings. Additional seminars are to be announced closer to the show. Admission is $10 and is good for the entire weekend. Planned hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on that Saturday and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. on that Sunday. Tiffin Glass Museum & Shoppe, 25-27 S. Washington St., is planned extended hours during the show. National Depression Glass Association, founded in 1974, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation of American-made glassware, and the history of the companies who manufactured it. The organization emphasizes glass manufactured in the three decades centered on the "Great Depression," providing a forum for members to exchange ideas and information on topics related to American-made glassware, dissemination of educational information regarding the glassware and its manufactures, history of the companies who manufactured the glass and promoting interest in the preservation and history of American glassware.
