TU hosts 'Giving Day'

TIFFIN --- Tiffin University is set to host its fifth annual Fuel the Fire Giving Day on Sept. 13. The special day is an event where employees, alumni and friends of the university can show their appreciation for the university by giving donations. According to a press release, Giving Day 2022 resulted in the university receiving $198,836 from 1,544 donations. "Giving Day is one of our highlights of the year," said Mikki King, director of Annual Giving. "This is the perfect time to focus on our past, present and most importantly, our future. This day is all about supporting a university that means so much to so many all around the world." "Giving Day not only has an immediate impact, but it will affect the lives of future generations. We are extremely thankful for your support over the last four years and especially look forward to Giving Day 2023," King said. "Any amount of help will directly and significantly impact our mission of providing the best in education for our wonderful students." The university is also set to host Philanthropy Week Sept. 11–Sept. 15. During the week, TU will acknowledge and celebrate the impact philanthropy makes on its students. King told the A-T that Philanthropy Week is an opportunity for the university to thank donors in a visual and public way. "The goal of TAG Day is not only to express gratitude to those who have given back to the university but also to educate and raise awareness on campus of the many ways philanthropy impacts day-to-day life," she explained. "Philanthropy Week in is coordination with our annual Giving Day on Wednesday, September 13. This entire week will focus on acknowledging our past donors as well as hosting a 24-hour Giving Day to raise money for all areas on campus such as scholarships, technology, campus beautification, athletics, performing arts and capital projects."
