Others: Freshmen Landen Riser, Aydin Manuel, Matthew Travis, and Brandon Lovato. Outlook: Adam Huffman takes over for Ty Ray and he will have a young team in his first season at the helm of Lakota. The Raiders have no seniors and graduated an impressive seven seniors off of last year's team, but that means there is tons of room for growth and a recipe for a successful future. Ryan Parks, Carson Hill, Mitch McDaid, Alex Holman, Cole Roush, Christopher Jurovcik, and Jason Harpster all graduated for Lakota after finishing third in the SBC River Division, one point behind second-place finisher Fremont St. Joseph. "They were all great team leaders," Huffman said. "All of the seniors who left the program left their mark. While we don't have their leadership on the courses this fall, we have returning golfers who will step up to the plate." It will be a young team for the Raiders as juniors Alex Speck and Cooper LaVigne are the elders on the team. Sophomores Carter Myers, Brody Brubaker, Jack Reyna, and Levi Ulmer will almost certainly be thrust into bigger roles this season for Lakota. "I look for these golfers to take on leadership roles," Huffman said. "Last season, they were all pretty equal on the course. Their scores were similar, each of them being good golfers. My hope is they teach the new guys some things, and that they learn, grow, and improve as a team." There is a plethora of young talent out this season for the Raiders. Freshmen Landen Riser, Aydin Manuel, Matthew Travis, and Brandon Lovato will all look to compete with tons of energy. "We have a young team, many of which I have never seen golf before," Huffman said. "With the loss of the seniors, we are in the rebuilding stages. However, the upperclassmen will provide a good foundation for the team. With the numerous freshmen on the team, we have a solid chance to build and improve over their high school careers." There is a lot for Huffman to be excited about with such a young team. Lakota has competed towards the top of the league quite a bit over the last five years and Huffman would like that tradition to continue. "My goal for this season is to be competitive in the league, improve, and build foundations for success," Huffman said. "I want my golfers to grow together as a team, challenge each other to be better each and every time we step on the course, and to build for the future. The returning golfers have a chance to leave their mark with two full seasons to go. My hope is they take what they learned from our departing seniors, apply it to their game, and possibly compete for a championship. I think the potential is there to have a good run in the league this season."
