Frankart Farm hosts right to life event

CLYDE --- With Ohio's abortion decision looming in November, pro-life supporters gathered Tuesday evening in Clyde. The Protect Women Ohio event, hosted at the barn of Seneca County Commissioner Bill Frankart, featured Peter Range, CEO of Ohio Right to Life. Frankart said that the Frankart Farm event is one of a series of fundraisers to benefit Protect Women Ohio. According to an event flyer, PWO "is a pro-woman, pro-parent campaign dedicated to defeating an extreme ballot initiative in Ohio that will allow taxpayer-funded abortion up until birth, including when the baby is capable of feeling pain, and eliminates parental notification laws and healthcare protections for women." Sandusky County Treasurer Kim Forman, who helped plan the event, said Ohio RTL's CEO Range was "so informative and a great speaker." "Most people are unaware what can be happening in the great state of Ohio," Forman said. In November, the "Ohio Right to Make Reproductive Decisions Including Abortion Initiative" will be on the ballot and, if passed, will enshrine abortion and other reproductive decisions in Ohio's constitution. In addition, following the defeat of Issue 1 in last week's special election, only a simple majority will be required to pass the amendment. "The public needs to be educated," Forman said. Currently, there is a "spirit of confusion." In addition to speeches by Range and Ohio Representative Gary Click, guest Sharon Norts shared her story with the audience. Norts said she is the product of her mother being raped and owes her life to her mom. In addition, Norts said she chose to have an abortion when she was a teenager, right after abortion became legal. In 1989, Norts said, she began to "give back" at Heartbeat in Fremont to help fight for life and help other women "find hope and healing." "God has used all my painful experiences for good," Norts said. "God uses every unplanned pregnancy," Norts said. "Babies just need a safe place to grow." Frankart said to further the fight for the unborn, "Going forward, we are going to need to work diligently and all come together." "We need boots on the ground" leading up to the November election, he said. Frankart said proceeds from Tuesday's PWO event will be used to "combat dark money and out-of-state money" that has been employed in Ohio to push the abortion agenda.
