City closes on lot sales

TIFFIN --- At the Tiffin City Council meeting Monday evening, Director of Law Brent Howard provided an update on the purchase of lots at Eagle Rock Business Park. He confirmed during his report that on Aug. 14, the city closed the sale of Lot 3 at Eagle Rock Business Park to AFLP LLC. The city has received the net portion of the sale, which is about $73,200. Howard said the city also closed on the option granted to the same entity for Lot 2. AFLP LLC also closed on the purchase of Lot 1, which is the spec building that the city had sold a couple of years ago. The city is to receive the payoffs of the note related to that sale in the amount of $184,808. In total, the city is set to receive about $258,008 to go into the Economic Development Fund of the city. Howard said residents should expect to see activity at the spec building as there is additional work being done by the developer. There will also be work done on Lot 3, which will support work being done in the spec building. He also added that there should be job openings as well. As for resolutions and ordinances, council approved the following: Ordinances: 23-51: authorizing the Director of Finance to enter into a discretionary investment agreement for professional management of various city funds and declaring an emergency. 23-52: amending 2023 budget ordinance 22-108 to appropriate $21,850 in the Municipal Court budget. 23-53: amending 2023 budget ordinance 22-108 to appropriate $15,425.25 into the Police and Park budgets.
