The Reicharts

The Reicharts Richard and Nancy Reichert, Attica, are celebrating the 60th anniversary of their marriage on September 1, 1963. Richard is the son of Ghale and Gladys Reichert, Attica and Nancy is the daughter of Dale and Wanda Tanner, Attica. The couple was wed on Sunday, September 1, 1963, by Rev. Paul Long at 2:30 in the afternoon at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Attica. Rich is a lifelong farmer and supplemented farming with a variety of careers. He drove school bus for Seneca East Schools for over 25 years, was a partner in R&F Farm Drainage for over 20 years, and was a 20+ year board member of North Central Electric Coop, serving several years as board president. Nancy began married life as a farm wife, church organist, gave piano lessons to youth from Attica, Republic, and Bloomville and became active in the Attica Women's Music Club. In the early years of their marriage, the couple was active in the Attica chapters of Grange and Farm Bureau and enjoyed square dancing with the Tiffin T-Squares square dance club. In 1977, Nancy began working at Sutton Bank in Attica and after 31 years with the bank, retired in 2008. Nancy continues to provide music at Bethlehem Lutheran Church and is currently involved in the Attica Senior Citizens, Attica Literary Guild, and the Attica Community Food Pantry. The couple are parents of three children, Sherri (Rick) Bowerman, Jeffrey (Dawn) Reichert, and Craig (Lauire) Reichert. They also opened their home to Yukari Usami, a Japanese exchange student who lived with their family for a year and became a bonus daughter from that time forward. The Reicherts are proud grandparents to seven grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Justin) VanAlstine, Jordan (Ashton) Bowerman, Ryan (Sarah Bernard) Bowerman, Kori Reichert, Kurtis (Megan) Reichert, Paige, and Cade Reichert. Rich and Nancy also cherish every moment spent with their four great-grandchildren, Maren and Ella VanAlstine, and Barrett and Bexley Bowerman. Rich and Nancy's family is hosting a celebration in their honor on Sunday, September 10, 2023, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Attica. The family is worshiping together at the 10:00 a.m. service followed by a light lunch with visiting in the church's fellowship hall from 11:30-2:00 p.m. We invite friends and family to celebrate Rich and Nancy at this open house.
