Splash of Love gets absorbed

SENECA COUNTY --- Splash of Love From Home, a nonprofit that sends care packages to deployed soldiers overseas and permanent duty station soldiers, has recently dissolved. However, another nonprofit called Dress, Right Dress has taken over and plans to continue the mission of Splash of Love. "They are absorbing everything," said Carrie Duncan, founder of Splash of Love. "They are going to send care packages too, so everything donated is still being used." Dress, Right Dress is a veteran care organization with the same ideals as Splash of Love—they aim to send care packages to military personnel who need it most, and assist veterans and service members during tough times. Thus, contracts were signed and inventory was officially moved to Dress, Right Dress from Splash of Love. The idea for Dress, Right Dress to take over developed after Duncan decided Splash of Love was not receiving enough volunteers due to busy schedules. "We are truly honored to take over," stated a Facebook post from Dress, Right Dress. "We discussed recent changes with the outgoing Board of Directors, but nothing drastic just yet. We have a few things to finish up, but we are ready to go! Thank you to all the volunteers who assisted!" Duncan explained that Splash of Love is extremely grateful for all the local support they received throughout their time in the community. "I just want to thank my board members and everybody that has volunteered, no matter how they volunteered—whether it was donating items or donating money," Duncan said. "I am so humbled at how many people have helped us through the years," Duncan said through a Facebook post. "Now we ask that you continue to support our soldiers through DRD (Dress Right Dress.)
