H-L passes permanent improvement levy

BASCOM—On Sept. 13, Hopewell-Loudon Local Schools Board of Education passed a resolution authorizing an unvoted permanent improvement levy. Through the resolution, the Board of Education shall levy a maximum of 1.28 mills unvoted permanent improvement levy for Tax Collection Year 2023 to fund Permanent Improvements. This levy will be included in the tax budget for fiscal year 2024 and thereafter. In other news, during the meeting, the board proceeded to pass several consent items, including substitute teachers and aids for the 2023-24 school year as approved and updated by North Central Ohio Educational Service Center, and the approval of the Fiscal Year 2024 contract with NCOESC SchoolsPLP Software Licenses. The Seneca County Board of Developmental Disabilities agreement was passed as well. A donation of $100 was also approved by the board, from Siesel Distributing LLC to the H-L boy's basketball team. The next regular meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 11, in the school's auditeria located at 181 N. County Road 7.
