Black Knights blank Old Fort

VAN BUREN — Alec Busey, Aedan Riesen and Cohen Stevens each scored twice Saturday to propel Van Buren past Old Fort 8-0 in a Division III sectional final.Busey scored both of his goals in the first half to help the third-seeded Black Knights (11-6) jump out 5-0.Riesen scored once in each half and Stevens scored twice in the second half.Seth Gregory and Diego Rivera also scored for Van Buren in the first half.Old Fort, seeded eighth in the district, ended the year 8-8-3. Slow start buries 'BergMARIETTA – Heidelberg couldn't get much going Saturday as it trailed Marietta 30-0 in the second half. 'Berg managed a few touchdowns, but it ultimately fell 37-14 in Ohio Athletic Conference play. The Pioneers (5-2, 4-2 OAC) led 10-0 after the first quarter and upped that to 24-0 at the half. Heidelberg's Montavious Yearby got the Student Princes (4-3, 3-3) on the board in the third with a 12-yard TD run and then Matthew Drdual caught a 20-yard TD pass from Carey graduate Lance Rickle to cap the scoring. Rickle was 7 of 11 passing for 86 yards, while Yearby had 17 rushes for 71 yards. Drdul was the leading receiver with four grabs for 67 yards.
