Cab co. building catches fire

TIFFIN — Firefighters battled a blaze at 16 E. Perry St. all afternoon Tuesday and into the early evening. The fire at the Tiffin Service Cab building was called in at about 12:30 p.m. and firefighters were still on the scene at press time. The building was engulfed in flames when the fire department arrived there, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation. Nearby streets were closed and traffic was detoured all afternoon. Assisting with traffic control were the Seneca County CERT Team and Seneca County Emergency Services. Assisting Tiffin firefighter on the scene were the Clinton Township Division of Fire and Bascom Joint Fire District. The Republic Fire Department assisted Clinton Township Division of Fire with handling calls while the team was out battling the fire.
