Calvert's Lanicek, Mohawk's Klopp earn 1st-team all-Ohio

Calvert senior Caroline Lanicek and Mohawk sophomore Biz Klopp were listed as first-team all-Ohio players in Division IV when the all-Ohio list was released Sunday. Calvert senior Camryn Shook and Carey junior Parker Vackert were listed on the second team and Calvert senior Olivia Miller was honorable mention.Senecas coach Lori Rombach earned a coaching achievement award, along with Crestview's Tammy Gregory and New Bremen's Diana Kramer. The coach of the year was Fort Loramie's John Rodgers. Calvert's Lanicek gets POY, 27 other locals on D-IV all-district teamsIt was another special season for volleyball in the A-T coverage area as Calvert is still going and will be ion Dayton for the state tournament this weekend. Mohawk won the N10 title again and Carey and Buckeye Central were also ranked during the season. Calvert senior Caroline Lanicek was tabbed the player of the year for District 6 in Division IV, when the teams were released Sunday.Her coach, Lori Rombach and Mohawk's coach Eric Hoover were co-coaches of the year. Hoover recently notched his 400th career win.Joining Lanicek on the first team were Calvert senior Camryn Shook, Mohawk senior Mia Miller and sophomore Biz Klopp, Buckeye Central senior Mia McDougal, Carey junior Parker Vackert, Old Fort junior Ryen Smith and Seneca East junior Jaidyn Kagy-Alexander.Calvert senior Olivia Miller, Carey senior Kelsey Bursby, BC junior Mara McDougal, Lakota senior Emma Gregg, Mohawk junior Allison Russell, Old Fort senior Audra Miller and Hopewell-Loudon senior Isabelle Beidelschies all were listed on the second team. The third team consisted of Calvert senior Cecilia Palm, H-L senior Kendall Eilrich, New Riegel senior Katie Dryfuse, BC sophomore Maren McDougal, SE junior Haley Boes, Mohawk junior Caitlin Ogg, Carey senior Rylee Row and Lakota freshman Queen Beard.Honorable mentions were Mohawk senior Molly Ward, Calvert senior Alli Porter, H-L junior Sidney Brickner, Carey senior Riley Brodman and Old Fort junior Lexi Bowman.In Division III, Upper Sandusky junior Addyson Newman was a third-team selection. Coach of the year was split between Huron's Don Wood and Galion's Katie Davis. 3 Tornadoes on all-district teams in D-1Fremont Ross' Lyndi Wolf (junior) and her coach Lindi Cahill earned the top district 6 awards for volleyball in Division I when they were released Sunday.Wolf was the player of the year, while Cahill was the coach of the year. Locally, Columbian junior Ella Kerschner and sophomore Kaela Jenkins were first-team picks, while freshman Avary Brown was a second-team selection.In Division II, Clyde junior DeLani Durst was a first-team pick, while Bellevue senior Bailey Fisher was on the second team and the third team consisted of Bellevue junior Brooke Brown and Clyde seniors Cora Liskai and Katelin Morrison.Honorable mentions were Fostoria seniors Karma Williams and Ceegan Talley, Clyde junior Lily Ball and Bellevue junior Lila Krall.Norwalk's Sarah Kipp and Lexington's Janelle Wyant were coaches of the year, while Lexington sophomore Ava Brown was player of the year.
