Thanksgiving collections to benefit community

TIFFIN --- November is a time for giving thanks and giving back for members of the community. Your Legacy Federal Credit Union, 25 Shaffer Park Drive, announced in a press release the kick off of its annual food drive to benefit FISH Food Pantry and the Humane Society of Seneca County. "This charitable event underscores Your Legacy Federal Credit Union's unwavering commitment to the well-being of the community," the release states. All residents and businesses in Seneca County are invited to drop off donations at Your Legacy FCU now through November 30, according to the release. "Together, we can collectively make a difference and strengthen our community bonds," the release states. Non-perishable food and personal care items are suggested for donation to FISH, and pet food, supplies and toys may be given for SCHS, according to the release. St. Mary Catholic Church, 85 S. Sandusky St., Tiffin, and St. Joseph Catholic Church, 36 Melmore St., Tiffin, also are collecting donations for FISH this season. Donations are being accepted after Masses on Nov. 18 and 19 at St. Mary Church, with donation boxes at the main entrance of the church. St. Mary has been participating in the Thanksgiving FISH food drive for many years, said a church spokeperson. St. Joseph Church welcomes Thanksgiving Mass attendees to bring donations to the altar during the offering time, and suggests canned soups/meat, cereal, peanut butter, crackers, and hygiene items. A spokesperson for St. Joseph church said visitors are "welcome to bring donations all the time." A donation box is available in the side entrance of the church.
