Heidelberg presents 'Holiday Celebration'

TIFFIN --- The Heidelberg University School of Music and Theatre is hosting its annual holiday celebration at 3 p.m. on Dec. 10 at he Ritz Theatre for the Performing Arts, 30 S. Washington St. Heidelberg's performing ensembles will include the Concert Choir and the University-Community Chorus, under the direction of Greg Ramsdell; the Marching Band, under the direction of Rod Miller; the Jazz Band, under the direction of Scott Kretzer; contemporary vocal ensemble Studio2Stage, under the direction of Michael Shirtz with choreography by Pam Shirtz; and Sue Hlavinka, production manager and director for Theatre Postcards- theatrical interludes that will be performed throughout the concert between musical selections. In addition to the holiday classics, Heidelberg has maintained a tradition of presenting portions of G.F. Handel's Messiah during the concert for 135 years. The school has announced that three gifted vocalists, soprano Carol Dusdieker, mezzo soprano Katherine Calcamuggio Donner and tenor Daniel Stein will be featured as soloists during Messiah.
