Shooting on Sycamore St.

TIFFIN - Two shots were fired in the first block of Sycamore St. late Saturday afternoon. The incident occurred at about 4:30 p.m. when a resident reported two gunshots from an upstairs apartment went through his ceiling and entered his apartment. According to law enforcement, officers secured the area after confirming the report. The Black Swamp Emergency Service Unit was called in to assist. At about 5:10 p.m., five juveniles exited the upstairs apartment voluntarily and surrendered to Tiffin Police Department officers. Those juveniles reported there was an adult man in the upstairs apartment who refused to come out, officials said. It was then confirmed that there was a firearm in the residence and that shots had been fired. At about 5:40 p.m., the adult man exited the apartment and surrendered to the BSEU. The adult man identified as Lazarius J. Tucker, 18, was taken into custody on a separate arrest warrant from Fostoria Police Department for criminal damaging. He was transported to Seneca County jail. BSEU conducted a preliminary search of the apartment. Tiffin detectives then executed a search warrant to collect the firearm and other relevant evidence from the scene, according to a press release from Tiffin Police Department. Tiffin Police Department was assisted by Seneca County Sheriff's Office, Fostoria Police Department, Tiffin Fire/Rescue Division and Fostoria Fire Division. "We are relieved that the resolution was achieved peacefully without harm to officers or civilians," said Tiffin Police Chief David Pauly.
