NCOESC announces new partnerships

TIFFIN --- North Central Ohio ESC, 928 W. Market St., has recently partnered (with) two educational companies to further enhance strategic support and student development within the district. As identified in NCOESC's winter newsletter, the newly created Department of Education and Workforce (DEW) have defined their four main goals for the year, which include literacy, student wellness, workforce development and learning acceleration. The new partnerships with educational company Battelle For Kids (BFK) and State Support Team 7 (SST7) aim to meet those goals. By partnering with BFK, NCOESC will receive assistance in the development of a local Regional Portrait of a Graduate—a program where the community collectively identifies the skills, dispositions and competencies students need in today's modern world. According to the BFK website, the company aims to "transform education and drive student success." "As technology and artificial intelligence continue to infiltrate our society, we must prepare our students today for the jobs of tomorrow that may not even currently exist," stated the winter NCOESC newsletter. "Districts within the NCOESC area will come together and develop what we believe all students should know and the skills they need to possess upon graduation." The partnership with SST7 will help to coordinate services within the school district, as SST7 is a state level team that focuses on school improvement. The state identifies school districts in need of additional academic and instructional assistance for students, and SST7 provides a process to increase student outcomes and achievement. Along with Seneca County, SST7 covers Ashland, Crawford, Huron, Knox, Marion, Medina, Morrow, Richland and Wyandot counties. "NCOESC is proud to partner with State Support Team 7 to coordinate services in school district's encompassing a 10-county area," stated the newsletter.
