Kreais named top SBC River player

Hopewell-Loudon's Evan Kreais was named the River Division's most outstanding player when the Sandusky Bay Conference announced its all conference boys basketball lists Tuesday.Kreais, one of six unanimous River Division first-team picks this year, helped guide the Chieftains to the outright River Division title this season with a 17-1 conference mark after H-L shared the crown last year.The senior averaged 13.6 points, 7.1 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.9 steals per game for H-L, which ended the regular season ranked seventh in the state's Division IV Associated Press poll.The Chieftains (20-2) open the postseason Friday in a sectional final against the winner of the Fremont St. Joe and Arcadia game.Kreais was joined on the first-team by classmate Donovan Elmore (11.6 ppg, 7.8 rpg, 1.5 spg), another unanimous selection for H-L.Senior Carter Yarbrough (9.7 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 1.7 apg, 2.0 spg) landed on the second team for the Chieftains and senior Blake Berrier (10.3 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 4.2 apg, 2.8 spg) was an honorable mention pick.The other unanimous first-team picks were Calvert junior Gavin Wagner (14.5 ppg, 7.8 rpg, 1.4 apg, 1.0 spg), the Old Fort senior duo of Konnor Ernsberger (13.1 ppg, 6.7 rpg, 4.5 apg, 2.4 spg) and Isiah Perez (13.6 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 4.0 apg, 2.5 spg) and New Riegel senior Reese Goshe (11.9 ppg, 7.1 rpg, 1.0 apg, 1.2 spg).Woodmore senior Luke Morris, Gibsonburg freshman Reece Walby, Calvert senior Caden Otterbacher (5.2 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 5.3 apg, 1.0 blocks per game, 2.4 spg) and Old Fort junior Ryan Adelsperger (12.7 ppg, 4.7 rpg, 2.1 apg, 2.1 spg) rounded out the first team.Joining Yarbrough on the second team were Danbury junior Tyler Harris, Sandusky St. Mary senior Braylon Harris, Fremont St. Joe senior Cooper Talikka and Clay Stull, the New Riegel duo of junior Shane Jones (11.3 ppg, 2.6 rpg, 2.4 apg, 1.7 spg) and senior Mathew Flores (11.0 ppg, 5.2 rpg, 3.2 apg, 1.0 spg), Calvert senior Jacob Rombach (9.6 ppg, 7.8 rpg, 2.1 apg, 1.2 spg), and Old Fort senior Carter DuBois (11.9 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 2.5 apg, 1.7 spg).Along with Berrier, the honorable mention list included Gibsonburg senior Jake Hall, Woodmore junior Brady Thatcher, St. Mary senior Charlie Kaftan, Lakota sophomore Avery Shilling (11.1 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 1.1 spg) and Calvert senior Harrison Shultz (9.9 ppg, 1.7 rpg, 2.5 apg, 1.1 spg).
