Holbrook to step down as Mohawk superintendent

SYCAMORE--- Jeffery Holbrook, superintendent of Mohawk Local Schools, recently announced his plans to step down and pursue a leadership role at the North Central Ohio Educational Service Center in Tiffin. In a recent interview, Holbrook discussed his decision, his time at Mohawk, and his plans. "I am not retiring but rather stepping down to focus more on my family," Holbrook said. "With 25 years in education, including 16 in administration, I liked to focus on my children, rather than 200, not to say I didn't enjoy my job, I loved being a superintendent, and I will continue to serve the community in a new light." Holbrook will assume a leadership role at the NCOESC and focus on investigations and compliance within the organization. Holbrook stressed, "It's been a real honor and a real pleasure to work with this Board of Education, the past Board of Education and I've been fortunate to have quality leadership with all of them." When asked about his future career path, Holbrook expressed his love for the role and indicated that he may consider returning to it in the future. With a focus on continuous improvement and a growth mindset, Holbrook aims to make a positive impact wherever he goes, building on his successful tenure at Mohawk schools. "They have a great Board of Education, great kids and it's just an honor and a pleasure to serve them, and Josh Messer the board president is amazing I'll be honest you don't find people with that leadership caliber, he's just an exceptional leader and a better person he does a great job," Holbrook commented. Holbrook's last day at Mohawk will be Aug. 1, coinciding with the start of the new school year. While he will miss the students and families he has worked with, Holbrook is confident that the administrative team at Mohawk is well-equipped to handle the transition smoothly and continue to provide excellent leadership.
