Foos resigns as TC girls basketball coach

After two seasons at the helm of the Columbian girls basketball program, Jaycie Foos resigned Wednesday.According to the release from TC: "Coach Foos has been a great asset to our girls basketball program for the last two years, bringing a great level of knowledge and consistency to our girls basketball teams. In her two years as coach, her teams compiled a record of 18-28 overall."While we are disappointed to be losing coach Foos, we understand and respect her decision to leave the position to dedicate more time to family. We are grateful for her work with our girls program and the lasting impact she has had on our athletes. As we begin to look for her replacement, we are committed to finding a coach who will continue to build on the standards of the Columbian High School Athletic Department and our girls basketball program. The search for the next head coach will begin immediately."Athletic Director Bill Beaston added: "Coach Foos proved to be a calming presence to the girls as she took over the program during a difficult time," he said. "Her knowledge for the game and her competitive nature was evident in the girls' performance night in and night out. Her teams showed great improvement from the beginning of the season to its conclusion, which is a testament to her preparations and details for practices."Knowing the difficulties with being a head coach and having young kids, I completely respect coach Foos' decision to step away. I greatly appreciate the time she has given the program and am happy that she will remain at Columbian High School as a teacher to continue to have a positive impact on our students."
