TCS superintendent considered for new job

TIFFIN - Tiffin City Schools Superintendent Ben Richards is being considered for employment with Mt. Vernon High School. According to Mt. Vernon's Board of Education agenda for today's meeting at 6 p.m., the board will consider hiring Richards as an Assistant Principal at the high school. A copy of the Mt. Vernon Board of Education's agenda is available on the district's website. The agenda also states that those being considered for employment on this agenda are being hired for the 2024 - 2025 school year. The board has not yet approved Richards' new position. "The board had been aware of this possibility by Mr. Richards," Tiffin City Schools Board of Education's President Dustin Williams told the A-T. "We've reviewed the protocols for a Superintendent exiting a contract early, and have been in communication with Mr. Richards throughout the process. Right now we need to be patient as this process goes through the required steps." Richards was selected as the district's superintendent in May 2022. His contract is effective Aug. 1, 2022 - June 2025.
