Bloomville Lions Announces Scholarship Winners, Host Golf Outing for future scholarships The Bloomville Lions Club is pleased to announce the winners of this year's Jim Newlove and Evelyn and Jerry Lutz Memorial Scholarships. James Forman, son of Donald and Carrie Foreman, plans to attend Bowling Green State University to study Political Science and Government. Caroline Kagy, daughter of Scott and Laura Kagy, plans to attend Miami University to pursue a career in Kinesiology and Physical Therapy. Nora Lane, daughter of Tracie Lane, plans to attend Owens Community College to pursue a career as a Registered Nurse. Gavin McLane, son of Mike and Kim McLane, plans to attend Bryant and Stratton College to pursue a career in business. Each of these deserving high school seniors will receive a scholarship of $1,000 as they begin their college careers. Congratulations to these winners! The club will be sponsoring a golf outing June 1 at Clinton Heights Golf Course to support scholarships for area high school seniors. BVHS Auxiliary awards scholarships The Blanchard Valley Health System Auxiliary recently awarded 11 $1,000 scholarships to students in Hancock and surrounding counties interested in pursuing a health-related career. The 2024 BVHS Auxiliary scholarship winners include: Ella Armstrong (Bluffton High School), pursuing a nursing degree at Goshen College; Jacob Barnhart (Findlay High School), pursuing a health sciences degree at The Ohio State University; Brooke Camper (Bluffton High School), pursuing a nursing degree at Cedarville University; Molly Crates (Findlay High School), pursuing a biomedical engineering degree at The Ohio State University; Emma Hoffman (Ottawa-Glandorf High School), pursuing a nursing degree at Bowling Green State University; Paige Maas (Ottawa-Glandorf High School), pursuing a nursing degree at Bowling Green State University; Christian Price (Fostoria High School), pursuing a pharmacy degree at the University of Findlay; Iris Schorsch (McComb High School), pursuing a nursing degree at Owens Community College; Kaytlynn Schroeder (Leipsic High School), pursuing a nutrition and dietetics degree at Bluffton University; Cora Sterling (Findlay High School), pursuing a nursing degree at Ohio Northern University; and Adelaide Wilt (Findlay High School), pursuing a pre-medicine/biology degree at Miami University. Ohio Natural Energy Foundation Announces 2024 Scholarship Recipients This year $50,000 in scholarships will be awarded to Ohio students PATASKALA, OH - The Ohio Natural Energy Foundation is proud to announce the recipients of the 2024Scholarship Program. This year 50 Ohio students interested in pursuing a career in the natural gas and oilindustry were selected to receive a scholarship.Since 2007, this program has awarded 689 individual scholarships to 423 students. Students can receivethe $1,000 scholarship for a total of four years upon renewal. These funds can be used to attend anaccredited college, university, technical or trade school and requires the student to maintain a gradepoint average of 2.5 or higher. These students represent a broad range of career paths such as petroleum engineer, finance, equipmentoperator, mechanical engineer and welder. Since the scholarship program's inception, the awardees haverepresented 83 of Ohio's 88 counties. Thissummer, there will be two STEM & Geology Teacher Workshops. These free events come with curriculumbooks that meet state and national standards and include background information and hands-onactivities for teachers to take back to their classrooms. New Washington student named to Dean's List at Jax State JACKSONVILLE, AL -- Parker Charlotte Phenicie of New Washington has been named to the Dean's List at Jacksonville State University for their outstanding academic performance over the Spring 2024 semester. To be named to the Dean's List, students must earn a 3.5-3.99 GPA for the semester while completing at least 12 GPA hours of course credit. Local college students inducted into Baldwin Wallace honor society BEREA -- Local students stand among a distinguished group of students at Baldwin Wallace University that has reached BW's pinnacle of academic achievement with induction into the Dayton C. Miller Honor Society. The following students were honored with membership that is achieved by less than 4% of the undergraduate student body: Jacob Weingart of Tiffin, a graduate of Columbian High School majoring in enterprise risk analytics and finance. Allison Damm of Attica, a graduate of Columbian High School majoring in biology. Attica student graduates from Ohio Dominican University COLUMBUS -- Blaine Swartzmiller of Attica, graduated with a/an BS in Business from Ohio Dominican University on May 4, 2024. Swartzmiller is among 154 students who earned their degree following the spring 2024 semester. SNHU announces winter 2024 Dean's List MANCHESTER, NH -- Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) congratulates the following students on being named to the Winter 2024 Dean's List.
