New Riegel board May meeting

**CORRECTION - Rodney Biggert was not the one hired in motion 6407-24 as student cleaning personnel, but rather the one who made the motion to approve Aaron Theis as summer student cleaning personnel. The correct motion was as follows: 6407-24: Aaron Theis was approved to be hired as a student summer cleaning personnel on an as-needed basis for the summer of 2024. NEW Riegel – The New Riegel Board of Education met May 13 to discuss the conclusion of state testing. Elementary Principal Jamie Barows shared state testing is completed with results expected in June. She said Teacher Appreciation Week was a huge success. Middle/High School Principal Valerie Zeno presented several thank yous to staff involved with state testing, as well as reporting that a variety of successful family and community events recently took place. Superintendent David Rombach shared that graduation and senior awards will be Sunday. Treasurer Brad Robinson shared his report, in which he revealed their 1st Quarter Income Tax Settlement is up 25% compared to last year from this time period. Action items During the meeting, all personnel items were approved including the hiring and rehiring of some staff. Other items approved were as follows: 6397-24: The 2023-24 Fundraisers were approved 6398-24: The Boy's Basketball overnight trip was approved 6402-24: A contract was approved with Five Star Maintenance for the outside painting of the Junior High gym building at a cost of $38,740.60 6403-24: The MK Counseling and Consulting contract for the 2024-25 school year was approved 6404-24: Brad Radison was approved to receive a three-year administrative contract as treasurer starting in the 2024-25 school year 6405-24: Shelby Hemminger was approved to receive a one-year, limited contract as an elementary teacher. 6406-24: Several individuals were approved to be hired as adult summer cleaning personnel on an as-needed basis for the summer of 2024 6407-24: Aaron Theis was approved to be hired as a student summer cleaning personnel on an as-needed basis for the summer of 2024. 6409-24: A motion was approved to non-renew all spring sports coaches at the end of the spring season 6410-24: Several individuals were approved to be hired with coaching/athletic supplemental contracts for the 2024-25 school year 6412-24: Stephanie Dietz was approved to be hired as the Gameday Medical Staff for the 2024-25 school year. 6413-24: A motion was approved listing all the eligible seniors for graduation The board entered into executive session for the purpose of employment of a public employee, no further action was taken or business discussed. The next New Riegel Board of Education meeting will be at 6 p.m. June 10.
