Oak Harbor bounces Raiders

OAK HARBOR — Oak Harbor pushed across the game's lone run in the bottom of the fourth and Michael Lalonde allowed just three hits Friday in a 1-0 Division III sectional final win against Lakota.Lalonde struck out six in a complete-game effort. He also singled.Brayden Butzin doubled and scored for the Rockets, and Cooper Schultz, Jaxon Bickelhaupt and Alex Rife each singled.Chase Dussel took the loss for the Raiders. He struck out five, walked two and allowed five hits.Dussel, Jacob Hines and Jacob Newell each singled for Lakota. Chieftains edge rival Blue Jackets, stay in SBC River huntBASCOM — After both teams lost tournament games Thursday, New Riegel and Hopewell-Loudon played a meaningful SBC River game Friday night. New Riegel scored first with a run in the top of the first and then made things interesting after falling behind 6-1 with a four-run top of the sixth, but in the end, the Chieftains pulled it out, 6-5.With the win, the Chieftains (20-5, 15-2 SBC River) just have Fremont St. Joe left Monday to earn at a share of the league title, if Calvert tops Lakota today. If the Raiders beat the Senecas, the Chieftains could win it outright.Kellen Frankart paced the H-L offense with a double, a single and an RBI, while Thomas Daniel doubled and drove in a pair of runs, Jack Colatruglio singled twice and Caine McDonald and Cohen Sendelbach each singled and drove in a run.Brody Hohman (2B) and Asher Schalk both tallied two hits for New Riegel, while Carson Pahl singled and drove in two runs and Brighton Coffin and Gabe Pugh each singled and drove in a run.Matt Wyman picked up the win on the mound in his 1 2/3 innings of relief. He only gave up one hit. Frankart started and went 5 1/3 innings, giving up five runs (three earned) on seven hits as he punched out four.Pugh suffered the loss in his one inning of relief. Lakota tallies 14 hits in league winOLD FORT — Lakota scored in just two innings at Old Fort Friday, but it was enough in a 9-4 SBC River victory.Lakota recorded 14 hits as Elizabeth Strawman lined three singles and drove in a run, while Emma Jurovcik (RBI), Sophia Bomer, Emma Warden and Chevelle Rubel (4 RBI) all added two hits and Kailynn Smith finished with a single and an RBI.Audra Miller, Lou Ward, Olivia Abdoo, Mylee Sebetto and Lucy King all singled for the Stockaders. Abbi Ward tallied an RBI.Jurovcik was the winning pitcher, allowing four runs (one earned) on five hits in a complete game in the circle. She bested Miller, who gave up nine runs on 14 hits in seven innings.
