Rumpke discusses bulk pickup

TIFFIN --- At the Tiffin city council meeting Monday evening, Rumpke Waste and Recycling's municipal and public sector specialist Blake Austin attended to discuss annual bulk trash pickup. Bulk trash pickup will begin June 10. Residents can put up to five items on their curbs for pickup on their usual trash pickup day. Rumpke provided the following guidelines for bulk pick-up items. Items that will be accepted include: Appliances (must be free of CFCs and tagged accordingly by a certified technician) Furniture, mattresses, carpet and other bulk items (upholstered items must be wrapped and sealed in plastic) Materials that will NOT be collected include: Car parts Batteries Ashes Dead animals 35- or 55-gallon drums or cans containing hazardous liquids (including paint) Any objects weighing more than 75 pounds Items that contain Freon Tires Austin also shared that the company recently expanded its recycling efforts, making Rumpke the largest recycling facility in North America. Other business Also, at the meeting council passed resolution 24-29, approving the mayor's appointment of Sarah Lazzari to serve an unexpired term on the Civil Service Commission from June 3, 2024, through Dec. 31, 2027. The following ordinances were passed. 24-37: amending the 2024 Budget Ordinance 23-94 to appropriate $25,883.00 into the Prosecutor's Budget. 24-38: responding to Petition No. 2024-01 vacating the alley off of Frost Parkway running East/West between Lot Nos. 517, 518, and 519 of Heming's Resurvey and Lot Nos. 533 and 534 of the New Fort Ball Addition in the Third Ward of the city of Tiffin, Ohio. 24-40: amending the 2024 Budget Ordinance 23-94 to appropriate funds into the annual budget. 24-44: amending the 2024 Budget Ordinance 23-94 to appropriate funds into the annual budget.
