New Riegel board approves project contract

NEW RIEGEL—The New Riegel Local Schools Board of Education met June 10 to approve a contract with Integrated Builders Corporation for the concession stand project, which will cost $44,860.83.On another matter, Superintendent David Rombach reported to the board that the school had accepted 142 open enrollment students for the upcoming school year. Rombach also updated the board on several facility projects happening around the school, including, the sidewalk replacement project, along with the proposed concession stand project. Elementary Principal Jamie Barrows updated the 2023-24 elementary goals and reported on how the staff created summer learning activities for each grade level. She also informed the board that the upcoming school year's open house is set for Aug. 19. Middle School/High School Principal Valerie Zeno gave the board an overview of the upcoming changes to the student handbook, which the board will review this month. Mrs. Zeno also gave an end-of-year wrap-up and a recap of the 2023-24 school year goals. The next board meeting will be 6 p.m. July 8.
