Students receive degrees at Miami University OXFORD — Miami University awarded degrees to students during fall commencement Dec. 15, 2023 Local students include Aaron Frederick of Fostoria and Cassie Eddington of Carey. Area students graduate from Capital University BEXLEY — Capital University conferred degrees at the University's 174th Commencement Ceremony in May 2024. Local students graduating from Captial University are Hailey Welly and Hannah Welly of Tiffin. Tiffin student earns degree from University of Maryland Global Campus ADELPHI, MD — Carlos Ariel Gomez of Tiffin, earned a bachelor's of science degree in criminal justice. Gomez was one of more than 14,000 students worldwide who earned degrees from UMGC in the 2023-24. Graduates came from all 50 states, three U.S. territories, and 24 countries. Tiffin student earns Scholar Athlete honor BEREA — Jacob Weingart (Tiffin/Columbian High School) is one of eight Baldwin Wallace University student-athletes recognized by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) as a Scholar-Athlete. To qualify for the Scholar-Athlete, a player must carry at least a 3.50 GPA for the academic year and have been listed on the institutional eligibility form. Weingart is one of 1,078 NCAA Division III and one of the 28 Ohio Athletic Conference student-athletes to be recognized. Local resident graduates from Dickinson College CARLISLE, PA — Aidan Viktor Huntington, son of Robert Huntington and Susan McCafferty of Tiffin, graduated from Dickinson College May 19 with a bachelor's of arts degree in history. Other recognition included: dean's list. Huntington is a graduate of Columbian High School.
