Man cited after accident on W. Perry St.

A Tiffin man was cited with failure to control after a three-vehicle accident Thursday. Sgt. Robert Bour of the Tiffin Police Department said Jacob Kohli, 19, of Tiffin, was traveling in the 200 block of W. Perry Street Thursday afternoon when he went around the curve at a high rate of speed. Kohli lost control of his vehicle and veered into the next lane, striking a vehicle driven by Matthew Nichols, 30, of Reelsville, Indiana. Kohli then struck a utility pole and skidded into a parked car, Bour said. Kohli's vehicle, a Chevrolet Malibu, ended up tipped on its side, and likely was totaled in the crash, he said. The parked car was unoccupied, he said, and sustained rear-end damage. Nichols' vehicle, Bour said, was towed for insurance purposes. Tiffin police, Tiffin Fire and Rescue and John's Towing responded to the scene, Bour said, and the Public Works Department was at the scene to clear the road. All three vehicles were towed, Bour said, and neither Kohli nor Nichols was transported. "I wish people would slow down right there," Bour said.
