Attica Fair begins

ATTICA – The 148th Attica Independent Fair officially kicked off Monday. "I am so glad you all could be here, the weather is perfect, and it's feeling like it'll be a great fair this year," said Fair Board Vice President Jason Darling. Singing the "National Anthem" during the opening ceremony was Seneca East junior Valerie Bordner. "It's a great day to be here at the opening ceremony," said Senca County Commissioner Bill Frankart. "It's always good to see the community pull together for events like this." Commissioner Frankart thanked County EMS Director Chris Hafely for his help with the county EMS program that began this year and was formulated years prior. Some of the events this week at the fair are as follows: Beer Garden - Opens Daily 5 p.m. Live Music - Everyday Pig Scramble - 7:30 p.m. Thursday Weiner Dog Derby - 7:30 p.m. Thursday, prior to Scramble Harness Racing - Noon Wednesday Draft Pony Pulls - 7 p.m. Wednesday Bulls n Barrels - 7 p.m. Friday Kids Day - 1-4 p.m. Saturday OSTPA Tractor Pulls - 7 p.m. Saturday Daily gate admission is $8 for ages 5 and older.
