Coach: Matt BrownNotable returners: Seniors Alyssa Rishty, Addison King, Izzi Jones. Junior Hannah Spaun. Sophomore Reagan Clark.Others: Freshman Grace Wood.Outlook: Coach Brown has quite a bit returning from a solid season in 2023, which ended with Rishty heading to state. The senior finished 37th at state last season with a 91 and a 93 in Columbus. Taking that experience and applying it to a good offseason, Rishty should be one of the top golfers in the area surely."I'd say in the last 10 years I've been associated with women's golf, it's just exploded in this country," Brown said. "'I've seen Alyssa come from learning how to hold a club in her hand to where she's at now. I've worked with her and my two daughters a long time. Women's golf has exploded. Watching Alyssa mature and grow into a great golfer, she was second last year in the SBC, she's hitting off the tee box, hitting it a ton, seen her drive greens on par 4s and her short game has really come along. We're working on her putting always. "Same thing with Jones, from where she started to now, she's going to be a really good player, just have to keep working at it. We have the fundamentals down, now we just have to refine the fundamentals. King a senior ... to watch these women, not even knowing how to hold the club to where they are now, they really are playing well." The Senecas have gotten off to a pretty good start this season in the top 5 of each event they are at. Rishty has a few low scores already this season."We've been second a couple times and finished third so far in some invitationals we've played, so we're there, we're close," Brown. "If we could cut about 6-8 strokes, we'll be right there at the top of the league I think. "All of the players are returning except for Grace Wood, who is an athlete and she's picking things up quickly. She's a lefty, which is a first for me. Reagan Clark has learned a ton too from her first year last year, I'm hoping we can find that 6-8 strokes and we have high goals this year."
