Shop Tiffin, a group of local businesses that aim to promote other small businesses in the community, will be participating in the Tiffin-Seneca Heritage Festival Weekend celebration by hosting Shop Tiffin Fest– with participating businesses hosting carnival-themed decorations, games and more. The Tiffin-Seneca Heritage Festival will take place from Friday until Sunday. According to Susan Wilkinson, owner of Simply Susans, the Shop Tiffin Ohio Facebook page was created to showcase all locally-owned businesses, and is "a one-stop destination to explore the incredible array of businesses that make Tiffin a great place to be!" The goal, according to Wilkinson, is to highlight how small businesses can make a huge impact on Tiffin, by supporting its economy and fostering a vibrant community spirit. "We are still working on getting the word out to any business that would like to participate in any of our planned events," said Wilkinson. "Any business is welcome to join in on any activities that work for their business!" So far, the following businesses will be participating in the event: Washington Street Outfitters (WSO) Soul Boutique Kuebler Shoes Threads Tiffin Happy Days Nutrition SSG Ink Bailiwicks Coffee Company Carmies BBQ Grill Simply Susans Tiffin Art Guild (TAG) Active Nutrition JAMs Monthly Markets My Kidz Kloset "They have events scheduled for each month, with November containing a holiday kick-off weekend, a small business weekend walk (a spin-off of the Peppermint stroll from last holiday season), and a 'want-to-build-a-snowman?' event throughout the month of January," said Wilkinson. Other Upcoming Events As part of the Third Thursdays Downtown Pizza Party event Thursday, Shop Tiffin will also have a tent set up in City Lot #5 during the downtown Pizza Party event, which will take place from 5:30-8:30 p.m. According to Wilkinson, the organization will be handing out information alongside temporary pizza tattoos. In October, Shop Tiffin will have a tent set up in City Lot #6 making friendship bracelets as part of the Fall Flannel Festival from 5-8 p.m. Oct. 17. The event will feature hay rides, cider & donuts, and the great pumpkin drop, alongside many other activities. Additionally, the group will be at the 2nd annual Truck or Treat event, to be hosted by Keller Brothers Trucking at the Seneca County Fairgrounds from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Oct. 27– The event will feature various food trucks, bounce houses, and more.
