Attica hosts second Autumn Village Day

ATTICA – The Village of Attica will be host to their second annual Autumn Village Day from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28 This is the second year that the Events Committee has organized the event, saying last year's event was very successful. "Last year went really well, we were almost shocked with the turnout we had and are hopeful for the same this year," said Nicole Lenhart, social media chair for the committee. In a press release, Financial Chair Jamie Beamer shared that the event's Vendor Fair will contain over 36 vendors, including The Seneca East Public Library which will be selling fresh baked bread and books, and Miller Insurance which is sponsoring and hosting kids' crafts for the event. Additionally, numerous food trucks will be on site as well as pizza deals from Smitty's Pizza Co. on Main St. Additionally, this year the event will feature a Touch-a-Truck event with Seneca County EMS, a tractor, a hay baler from 1-3 p.m. and a pie baking contest. Submissions must be dropped off at the committee tent by noon, they will then be judged and auctioned off with the proceeds to benefit the committee. The overall winner will receive a $50 gift card to Kroger, with second and third place to receive an award. There will be a pick-a-pumpkin patch for kids, free of charge as well as numerous games available. Jake Heil Music will be performing at the Veterans Memorial from 12 - 2 p.m., and the event will conclude with Line Dancing provided by Rockin' Mommas from 2 - 3 p.m. "During the line dancing there will be fellowship, music, laughs and maybe even some great and unexpected dance moves," said Beamer in the release. There will be a Smitty's Ice Cream Cart with free ice cream again this year from 12 - 2 p.m., sponsored by Attica Community Church. "We're hoping to have a really good turnout, there are a lot of fun activities this year and it will be a perfect fall day to support small businesses," said Lenhart.
