Enter to Ride in 2024 Halloween Parade

TIFFIN– Tiffin Pedal Company is taking submissions for a chance for a Seneca County Resident's child (and guest) to ride with the Tiffin Pedal Company in the Halloween parade scheduled for 10 a.m. Oct. 26. According to a post on Facebook from the company, parents are being asked to message the Tiffin Pedal Company's page explaining why their child should be recognized. In the post, the company wrote "There are so many amazing kids out there of all ages that do so many things for others while asking for nothing in return. This is our small way of giving back and recognizing how special they are." Chad Perry, one of the owner/operators of Tiffin Pedal Company, said this is the 3rd year the company has done the event. "The event was inspired in part by a MOJO in the Morning Radio Segment titled 'Tell Me Something Good'," said Perry. While listening to the segment, Perry was inspired to bring attention to younger members of the community who may not realize they have an impact. "We knew we wanted to make this a special experience and ensure they know that this is all about them, (the kids)," Perry said. This year, Tiffin Pedal Company has received a total of five or six submissions. "We would be tickled if we got a dozen submissions though," said Perry. He continued by sharing that the event has previously seen a positive reaction from the community and that they hope to continue the event for the foreseeable future. This year's winners will be chosen the weekend before the parade, with the parents being notified. Those chosen will then receive a surprise visit from the Tiffin Pedal Company including a bike ride, a T-Shirt and formal invitation to participate in the parade. "This is one of my favorite parts of the event, the kids' reactions are always priceless," said Perry. The Tiffin Pedal Company also hosts an event throughout the month of December, called Santa Stops. For this event, every Friday leading up to Christmas there are five stops per that the bike makes. By signing up for a donation amount (to be set), Santa will come and visit your home in Tiffin with all proceeds going to Christmas Angels, a local program to help families in need around the holidays.
