FINDLAY — Joaquin Perez turned in a top-15 effort Saturday to help Columbian's boys hold off Genoa 114-120 for the fourth and final regional berth at the Division II district meet at Owens Community College.The top four teams and top 16 individuals qualified for this Saturday's regional meet in Tiffin.Liberty-Benton turned back Otsego 42-56 for the district title, and Otsego ended third with 101 points.Eastwood finished sixth (141), followed by Lake (152), Maumee (218), Fostoria (228), Toledo Central Catholic (300) and Rossford (305).Perez claimed 14th (17:28.03) for TC, Xavier Melick ran 22nd (18:07.4), Noah Townsend ended 24th (18:14.82), Owen Hoyda came in 26th (18:19.2) and Colton Plikerd finished 33rd (18:44.1).Marcellino Gallardo (44th, 19:17.15) and Blake Melick (54th, 20:10.14) rounded out the Tornadoes.Ezekiel Sensabaugh paced Fostoria by running 27th (18:21.08), Traivon Cousin ended 41st (19:04.83), Andrew Lira finished 52nd (20:06.08) and Jayden Schmitz (20:27.66) and Bryson Barth (20:32.19) wound up 56th and 57th.Redmen Jeremiah Quitoz (70th, 23:00.8) and Cyrus Flores (73rd, 24:03.44) also competed. Blonde first, TC girls second at districtFINDLAY — Grace Blonde captured the top individual prize and Columbian's girls wound up on the back end of tiebreaker for the team crown Saturday at the Division I district race at Owens Community College.Blonde crossed the line in 19:43.88 for the Tornadoes, who tied Toledo St. Ursula Academy with 44 points.The top team spot went to the tiebreaker, which is the finish by each team's sixth runner. St. Ursula's No. 6 runner came in 14th while Columbian's ended 25th.Both teams advance to this Saturday's regional meet in Tiffin, along with Findlay, which held off Fremont Ross 86-92 for the third and final regional-qualifying team berth.Wapakoneta finished fifth with 99 points, followed by Ashland (149), Toledo Scott (214) and Lima (247).The top 12 individuals also earned regional berths if they did not compete on a regional-qualifying team.Abbie Felske backed Blonde by capturing third (20:26.37) for TC, Makiah Gurney clocked in fifth (20:39.77), and Carmen Lewis (21:29.7) and Maddie Kelley (21:31.21) ran 17th and 18th.Emma Musgrave (25th, 22:19.78) rounded out the runner-up Tornadoes.
