No zoning for Loudon Township

Homeowners in Loudon Township are about to lose control over their property. This November, a dangerous zoning measure is on the ballot that could fundamentally change how we live and what we can do with our homes. We need to stand together and vote against this overreach. These new zoning rules are a direct attack on your freedom as a homeowner. If passed, you'll no longer be able to make simple changes to your property without government interference and costly fees. Want to add a garage, build a fence or put up a shed? You'll have to pay for a permit, wait up to 90 days for approval and then deal with red tape that treats you like a renter on your land. Every vote counts and these proposed regulations do not align with our community's future growth or economic vitality. This measure goes too far: Fees for every little change. Any home improvement, from expanding a porch to building a small addition, will cost you more in permits and delays. Pay to live in your own home. Yes, there's even a fee for maintaining your property as-is. You'll be taxed just for being a homeowner in Loudon Township. Business permits and ownership changes, even in-name-only. Government control over your choices. Decisions that should belong to you and your family will be dictated by local officials who don't have your best interests in mind. These rules also hurt small businesses trying to make a living in our community. But, the real issue here is your freedom. This proposal strips away the basic rights we all expect as property owners. We work hard to provide for our families and to make improvements to our homes—it's outrageous to ask us to pay more, wait longer and ask for permission to do so. Loudon Township is at a crossroads. We can't allow these overreaching zoning laws to take hold and dictate what we can and can't do with our own homes.
