Seneca County Nature Walk Bird Talk - 8 a.m. Nov. 2 at Garlo Heritage Nature Preserve, 6777 South SR 19, Bloomville. Spend the morning looking and listening to the sights and sounds of nature in the preserve as you walk the trails with Linda Rose. Binoculars are helpful. This walk qualifies for the Walking Stick Program and lasts about 1 ¼ hour. Family Fun Event: Turkeys! - 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Nov. 2 at Garlo Heritage Nature Preserve, 6777 S. SR 19, Bloomville. Join Linda Rose on the trails as we search for turkeys and learn some interesting facts about this bird. Glo-vember Hike 7 p.m. Nov. 2 at Fruth Wetland Nature Preserve, 10130 OH 18, Fostoria. Walk the trails by the light of glow-sticks, look for special spots along the trail with interesting pumpkin facts, snacks over an open fire and join a camp sing-a-long. All supplies provided. Costumes optional. Register online at senecacountyparks.com/ FELC Non-scary Night Hike - 6:30-8 p.m. Nov. 2 at Fransecian Earth Literacy Center, 194 St. Francis Ave., Tiffin. This free family event hosted by the FELC will include a hay ride through the woods, a hike with activity stations, hot cocoa and more. Crawford County Geology in Ohio - 10 a.m. Nov. 2 at Lowe-Volk Park, 2401 SR 598, Crestline. Come and learn about the rocks, minerals, and fossils of Ohio with Crawford Park District Volunteer, Bryan Summer. Program participants will look at the Geological History of Ohio from the present day to the Ordovician Period around 500 million years ago. Registration is not required. Hancock County Fall Cookie Decorating - 10-11:30 a.m. Nov. 2 at Oakwoods Nature Preserve, 1400 Oakwood Ave., Findlay. Fall is a great time to decorate cookies. Kids will learn how the cookies are made and then they will decorate four cookies by glazing and painting them with food safe markers. Buttercream icing will be used. Cookies can either be taken home or eaten during the program. For ages 9-11. There is a $5 registration fee. Help plant, maintain and harvest seed from the native plants in the nursery. All tools provided. Celebrate the close of another month and the final Nurture the Nursery program of the year by bringing a dish to share during a potluck near the end of the program. No registration required. Hunters Archery: Fun Shoot - 1-2:30 p.m. Nov. 2 at Arrowwood Archery Range, 11126 Linwood Road, Bowling Green. Aim at our life-size 3D animal archery targets while learning the role of hunting as a part of a healthy environment. All targets and archery gear provided. Must be 8 years of age or older. Personal gear welcome – must be checked by staff before use. There is a $8 registration fee. Register online at reservations.woodcountyparkdistrict.org Sandusky County Hexagon Fall Garlands - 10:30 a.m.-Noon Nov. 2 at Creek Bend Farm: Wilson Nature Center, 720 S. Main St., Lindsey. Each year over 11 million tons of textile waste is added to landfills across the country. Help us find a new use for scrap material by making a hexagon fall garland. We have several color options to fit your home decor! Beginner sewing experience needed and all supplies will be provided. Registration is required. A Farmers Calendar - 1:30-3:30 p.m. Nov. 3 at Creek Bend Farm, 720 S. Main St, Lindsey. A Farmer's Calendar is about farming at Creek Bend Farm in 1940. Entries from Ernest Roush's diary will be read as we tour the barn looking at antique farm equipment. Photographs of the farm will also be shared as we take a glimpse into our past. Please dress for the weather, as the barn is not heated. Hot drinks will be provided. Registration is required. The event is hosted by the Wyandot Soil & Water District.
